Vikram Kushwah

Vikram’s photographs reflect a longing for childhood fantasies and intentionally blur the boundaries between dream and reality. In addition to being inspired by his own childhood memories, as well as childhood stories such as Alice in Wonderland, Vikram’s artistic influences include the photographers Guy Bourdin and Tim Walker, and the work of the Surrealists, the Romantics, and the Pre-Raphaelites. Vikram strives to draw viewers into phantasmagorical worlds through his meticulously staged photographs. Vikram marries his visual language with commercial publications to create dreamlike fashion editorials that tell stories through fashion, and act as both commercial work and art.

Vikram came to London to undertake a post-graduate diploma in photography at the London College of Communication and completed his MA in Photography at the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester. He is a regular contributor to Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle and his work is showcased in galleries in the UK, Europe and the USA with collectors of his fine art pieces in the USA and Asia.

Vogue Italia featured him among their ‘New Talents’ and selected his work to be exhibited in their Milan exhibition ‘Best of PhotoVogue’
His work won a Cannes Young Lions Award (Bronze) for Best Photography for his Grey Singapore, Duracell batteries campaign.
